Hi,

Yesterday, I brought this for 95 K in Dilsulknagar, Hyderabad and I'm blown away by its feature set. In fact, I want to buy Sony W950A, however my budget was sufficient and I want 47" or bigger screen. There is no scope for discount or discussion for Sony. I thought next best would be LG (keeping its features) and my budget in the view. I finalized the deal after having a quick demo and it was delivered in 3 hours to my home.

Below, I am proving my impressions below

Positives:
+ Sleek design
+ Excellent PQ
+ Excellent Connectivity (wifi, wired connection)
+ Magic Remote Controller
+ Remote Controller App for my Android and iPAD
+ Amazing USB movie/music/photo playback
+ Time machine 2 / DVR functionality (including to external HDD)
+ Superb 3D including 2D-to-3D connection
+ DLNA Supports (connects my laptop and macbook pro)
+ Intel Widi (Wireless Display )
+ 3 USBs and 3 HDMI
+ 4 GB TV Internal Memory (I could verify only 2 GB, others can confirm the same)

Negative (limited though)
+ Not great TV Sound
+ Limited Apps

Overall, I petty much impressed by TV and especially for its 3D.

I post few snaps soon.

within 3 hours? are you sure it is not a demo set?

Usually they will dispatch from their warehouses situated at a different place with 15-20 products to deliver on one day (Usually the next day of purchase).

Yes, it is new / sealed piece. My house less than a 1 KM from store.

Does the LG 6910 have the dirty screen effect as reported on the 6620 ? Trying to decide betweeen the sony w850 and the LG

Not sure about the dirty screen effect but people who bought 6910 are saying that it's superb and specially the 3D effects. They didn't report anything about dirty screen effect.

Probably if you would have waited for another month you could have got a good deal on new year discount sale. I enquired the same TV for a friend and the dealer told that the price would come down around 6k less during new year sale. If it would be full cash purchase he told that the price could still be negotiated further down.

Hi

I bought LG 47'' LA6910 two days before from Shah Electronics, T Nagar and yesterday i received it.

Actually i thought of buying Sony 47'' W850A. But after seeing the performance and the features, i decided to go for LG.

Hey , Me too booked one . Can you post some unboxing pics.. I actually got one today and luckily /unluckily it came in cracked one corner of the screen , and it was promptly returned .. Besides that I felt it was not a fresh piece . I have seen few unboxing videos ( unfortunately in Thai :P) and saw that the outside box was taped with transparent LG sticker tape and also there was the Lg sticker mentioning all TV features on the left top corner of the screen.. these were missing on the set I recieved ..

@nchary: Did you you see these on the set you recieved ? Pl reply at the earliest coz I might get a replacement tomorrow and I want to cross check if its a fresh piece and not a opened & used one .

hey i got the 42 inch model in this series and when i received the tv the box didnt look like it was opened before coz i was looking very carefully at the tape and at the part under the tape used to seal the box and it didnt look like it was opened before and it came with just a transparent tape if i remember... and no there were no stickers on the tv mentioning the features etc, the screen had no stickers at all...

also the best way to check is goto setting/support/product-service info in there u will see the used time, mine was 0, also the installation guy ran tru the whole setup including selecting from home mode or store mode so i knew that it was a fresh piece but still i wanted to check the usage hours and it was 0,

i had a doubt about if the usage hour goes back to zero after doing a factory reset ( coz my 4 year old 32inch lg tv when did a factory rest the usage counter got reset to lol ) so after like 30 hours or usage i did a factory reset and still the usage hour were 30 so doing a factory reset doesn't reset the usage hours ( if the store guys did a reset and send a display unit to u the usage hours will still show )

hope this helps

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
