DENON Owners thread

Thanks Bro, But during my search except one French supplier(Prix ??Moins Cher Du Net) none of the German Supplier is Shipping to India, Chennai. He has only 60% Positive reviews which is a concerning point.

Also this is his price quote,

Artikel
EUR 1.299,99
Voraussichtliche Versandkosten
EUR 158,99
Voraussichtlicher Gesamtbetrag
EUR 1.458,98

Senior members, Please suggest you views and I have couple of questions after comparing X4200w and X2200w.

- Is it worth to buy X4200w for the double of price of X2200w . What is the significance apart from the RMS power output and some additional Input/Outputs.

- Local Chennai Dealer is quoting X4200w at Rs. 1.23 Lakhs. Is it worth to take a risk by importing for 15K price difference and without Warranty .

There are 2 big ticket differences between 2200 and 4200:
Room correction suite (XT vs XT32-Pro)
Preouts (0.2 vs 13.2)
Power wise the difference is just 1dBW extra headroom.

Cheers,
Raghu

Hi all , need info on Denon avr 520bt support 3D or not . Ordered before thinking . Can I play 3D movies ?

Hi All FM,
I have a Denon avr 2113. My network is not working for some reasons. I have tried all means - like checking with different cables etc but to no effect. Can some one help or share denon customer care number in Delhi? Thanks in advance.

My advice, Denon India / PROFX will not give warranty or even repair the AVR if something goes wrong if you buy it from outside India. I brought it from here and facing and still facing some situation. The quality of Denon has come down and it seems it will require repair in 2 - 3 years. I still have no clue how other brand will be.

Also it supports Audyssey Sub EQ HT in case you have dual subs.

The XT vs XT32 calibration difference was really noticeable for me.

I purchased my Denon AVR x2000 in May 2014 from germany and started using it in November 2014. Its now stopped working and when i sent it for repairs they said they Display board has become corroded (in less than 18 months!!) and it will cost me 22K to get it repaired..

I now have to make a decision:

  • Get it repaired and hope no other parts fail anytime soon.
  • Buy a new Amp with extended warranty(If thats available). I am told i can get 1500 INR for my current AVR.:annoyed:

I can stretch my budget till 60K provided i can get an extended warranty for atleast 3 years and ideally 4 years.

What would this forum advise between repair and replace. Do any of the top AVR brands offer extended warranty in India? What has been your experience?

Re: Denon 2312CI HDMI board

This is the safe option. Changing the hdmi board may work for a few months, but it may fail again. I learned it the hard way. Better by a new avr rather than investing in hdmi board replacement.

Yes you are perfectly right. I am having a Denon AV X1000 for my second room and after two years of perfect service, I got it updated. The updation fail midway and now to replace the board, Denon has asked me to pay 24k which is absolutely ridiculous. He said you rather buy a new one.

Please go for new one......there is no guarantee and warranty for repairs.

Thank you for your advise. Do any of the AVR brands provide extended warranty in India. I am willing to switch to Yamaha or Pioneer if that helps but would prefer to stick to Denon.

Hi folks,

I have Himedia Q5 mediaplayer and Denon x1200w AVR with 5.1 setup. When I am trying to play Dolby Atmos (5.1.2) content... nothing happening. As I expected it should play. But not playing!! Exactly I don't know what is the reason... may be my setup is 5.1 channel. If my setup is 7.1 or 5.1.2 it will play. Is it correct? or any other problem with my setup?

the media player should be setup to output bitstream. It may be sending the audio as "Dolby Digital". Also do you have the 2 extra speakers (ceiling or upfiring) setup?

The media player have no bitstream option. It have RAW which one I already enabled. I have only 5.1 setup. (I told above already)

with just 5.1, you will not be able to hear dolby atmos. It requires that you have at least 2 additional speakers for the heights. Also does you reciver's OSD show the incoming signal as Dolby Atmos?

Heat burn isn't an issue if you give enough room for ventilation/circulation. It's a good value for money product, you should get around 15% discount on mrp. With regards to sound quality its a very good option for HT in that budget today, not the best if it's for music. Take a demo and then decide amongst peer group

Even we have 2.1 setup, we can play the 5.1 content. But as per you its must and should 7.1/5.1.2 for ATMOS!!! Fine... thank u

you can play Atmos content even with 5.1 or 7.1. The receiver will happily decode the signal for you but the unless you have the additional Atmos speakers (5.1.2/4, 7.1.2/4), you will not experience the intended results.

So my 1st question once again.....

I have x1200W AVR which one supports the ATMOS. But my speaker setup only 5.1. When I am trying to play 7.1 channel audio Dolby ATMOS movie, sound completely not playing!
