c_prabhu - u could check the service team at Philips arena on Mount road, they repair/service amps and other electronics...alternatively any of the authorised service centres, I think profx is one of them

Congrats..@SR Nair
what was your speakers ,r u using ceiling speakers ,if so what brand & model?

Hi Rajith,

I am currently using Onkyo 5.1 speakers purchased some 10 years ago along with my first setup (Onkyo HT-S580 HTib). I have added two Onkyo surround speakers for 5k las t week and mounted onto wall (near to ceiling angling towards listening position) for my 5.1.2 setup.

The subwoofer with this setup is not working and ordered SVS PB-1000, which is in transit and might reach me by this weekend.

Planning to upgrade to Polk Audio by next year...

Hello everyone

I have a Denon Avr 1311 which was working fine until yesterday. Watched 1 serial for about 120 min at a quite decent volume and everything went well.

Today as I powered it on it immediately went into "protection mode" with red light blinking. I checked on google to look for possible reasons.

What could be it and how do I go in resolving it? Since it was working fine till yesterday and nothing changed between yesterday and today doesnt suspect it to be a speaker wire issue. Also happened immediately on starting so cannot be overheating issue.

I remember it happened once before as well but got automatically resolved next day!

I shall try again tomorrow. Might be a case of bad electricity. Though its connected to a surge protector by Mx.

Incase it is not resolved how do I go about in diagnosing and resolving this?

@ sr Nair Namaskaram,
Fine you are using the height speakers as the speakers configuration. Me too the same.
But for good dolby atmos sound effect many reviews are recommending for ceiling speakers,if space constraint is a matter then dolby atmos upward firing module speakers may be required .Check with that.

Hi Friend,

Sorry to hear about that, hopefully it is fine bg tomorrow, do keep us posted. All the best.

Namaskaram friend :)

My ceiling is a curved one where reflecting sound to listening position will not give the desired effect. That is the reason for wall mounting.

I love the current setup :yahoo: , might be opting for ceiling mount down the line

Remove all the speaker cables and input cables, just plug power and try, if it still goes to protection mode then try resetting AVR processor. May be you can also try another power supply / plug to ensure proper earthing.
If this do not help then take it to service center...

Hi Guys,

I have Denon 1713 which worked well for the past 2 years, for the past 1 week I have some hiss and small short circuit like burst sounds from my front right and front surround channels. This is audible the moment I switch on the system and continues.

I have tried disconnecting all speakers, clean the terminals with Isopropyl alcohol, reset the micro processor and finally firmware upgrade.

What may be the issue?

Thanks,
Prem

Hi Friend, have you tried swapping the speakers.

Tried the avr yesterday. Worked fine without any issues.

Though I wonder if it had note how could I have "reset" the avr? Can anyone tell how to do that? The model is denon 1311. Regards.

Recently changed my AVr to denonx3100 with Dali zensor3 from Onkyo 5400.(7.1)
I feel not a big change in sound.
Please your suggestions
My setup:-room-10,13 feet
Front-Dali zensor 3
Surrounds-from HTIB Onkyo speakers
Sub- velodyne impact 12
Make me Happy to enter this family(denon)

Intl shipping will be available only on products sold by Amazon, look for the list of sellers and select Amazon and then try. If the option isn't available maybe the ite is out of stock

They are not yet shipping x4200, but x4100. I am too waiting for amazon.de to ship x4200 to India. If not, then visiting Singapore in a month and will try to bring from there :)

The 4200 was available for shipping to india when I checked in November/December. Of course i ended up getting the 3100 due to budget constraints

Thanks Bro, But during my search except one French supplier(Prix ??Moins Cher Du Net) none of the German Supplier is Shipping to India, Chennai. He has only 60% Positive reviews which is a concerning point.

Also this is his price quote,

Senior members, Please suggest you views and I have couple of questions after comparing X4200w and X2200w.

- Is it worth to buy X4200w for the double of price of X2200w . What is the significance apart from the RMS power output and some additional Input/Outputs.

- Local Chennai Dealer is quoting X4200w at Rs. 1.23 Lakhs. Is it worth to take a risk by importing for 15K price difference and without Warranty .

If the difference is 15k for a 1.23 lakhs item, I would personally not recommend it. Also if you're buying from amazon.de, buy only if the seller is amazon and not anyone else, just being extra safe no other reason. I've bought a denon 3100 from amazon.de, having got a really good deal on it, delivered to my doorstep in perfect packaging and condition, but yeah, took a risk without india warranty only coz I got it for 50k as compared to 80k discounted price by Indian dealers...

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
