DENON Owners thread

What is your source? Are you sure the source is sending the audio? If you click on the info button on your denon remote, it will show the incoming signal properties. Could you check and see if your player is sending out the right format.

All content with 5.1 channel is playing very well with Himedia Media player (Q5). When I tried to play Goose Bumps (ATMOS 7.1 audio), audio not playing. The same movie with another 5.1 audio playing well.
I tried with ATMOS demo cd content also. Same problem. May be my media player trying to downmix 7.1 audio, so its not happening properly. I don't know exactly what happening. Just gassing.
Denon remote INF button showing speakers setup layout and its showing "Direct" which I using the option from remote 'PURE' button.

May be its not possible now. Coz I already expand more than 5 times of my initial budget for my new home theater. And purchased media player with 14k! And in my friend circle no one using bluRay player. (Now a days penDrive is like a media player. More of them depending on download content only.)

Don't worry bro , i think problem with media player or it does not suitable to AVR.
Take media player to some one who has same kind of atmos receiver.

Yeah... I am also thinking same. May be Himedia Q5 not supporting proper with HD audio formats as they saying in their website.

"Downmix and passthrough are fully supported the 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA lossless HD-Audio formats. All other HD-Audio formats(i.e.5.1 channel DTS/DOLBY Digital)are similarly supported for both downmix and passthrough."

And I found today very big problem with this player, its unable to play AAC audio contained movie files!!!!!! Most of downloaded movies are particularly in this format only! 5.1 channel audio also playing as sterio:mad::mad: May be I wasted my 14k on this useless player. Or any other settings I am missing.

if you are sure and if it is in warranty ,try to claim with manufacturer .For 14k you should have very well gone for some good blueray player.
Also you can try ASUS OPLAY MINI Online Shopping India Mobile, Cameras, Lifestyle & more Online @ Flipkart.com
which can able to decode DOLBY TRUE HD 7.1 which is comparatively cheaper.

Asus is a good one but it supports 1080p only. It doesn't support 4k and DTS-HD . Even if it is DTS-HD file, it can decode DTS only. But pretty good one.

I studied specifications and hardware of all available player's in Indian market like ASUS oplay, WD live tv, KDLINKS A300 4K, Dune HD Solo 4K, Himedia...etc. Finally I came to decision is Q5 is more good than other players. After that I purchased it.

Yesterday evening I got a call from Himedia guy, when I was in office. He told its an HiEnd player, it can play everything. Only thing we have to configure it as per our usage.
So this Saturday he will call me (Saturday I will be available at home) again.

Yes RajithKumar, if I purchase bluRay player is good. Let me check with Himedia guy this Saturday and will post.

I talked to Himedia technician.... as their instructions also its not worked. So they are ready to take the box to back.
I searched on internet thoroughly about AAC-5.1 channel audio. Finally I came to one idea, this is the not only the media player which one unable to play AAC-5.1 channel audio. Lots of users of all media players are facing same issue. One of the expert reviewed its not the problem of player's. Its the problem of codec. Its not well developed for surround sounds. So all most all players and AVRs are not supporting. Stereo plays very well.
So I tried to convert the AAC-5.1 channel audio in to Dolby AC3 and DTS through Handbrake. Its worked very well. Now I am able to enjoy 5.1 surround. But the problem is I have to convert the aac movies every time when I want to watch. Its taking more than one hour for a movie! Because its converting both audio and video. That's painful. If any other converter is there to convert only audio?

So my 1st question once again.....

I have x1200W AVR which one supports the ATMOS. But my speaker setup only 5.1. When I am trying to play 7.1 channel audio Dolby ATMOS movie, sound completely not playing!

I agree you have X1200W but haveyou updated the firmware to make ATMOS operational. AFAIK, the update has arrived just few days back. I have x1200 since September 2015 & have downloaded 3 firmware updates till date, latest of which is Atmos. Kindly check.

Hi,
I have an AVR-2309 Denon, and it seems the HDMI card has conked off and only one port out of 4 is working. I tried to get it repaired from the official dealer in mumbai but he tells that part in not available as it is a very old model.
Just want some suggestions on the best way to go forward.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I am owner of Denon AVR-1612 which I inherited from one of my relative & started configuring yesterday, but the power knob keeps flashing green light & doesn't stabilize .

I checked the service center is in Mumbai & I am based out in Pune.

Can someone know any guy/repair shop who can repair/diagnose the problem.

Thanks in advance..

My Denon 1612 has the same problem. In my case, it is usually due to loose connection of connectors on the hdmi board. Try this - open the avr, you can see the hdmi board. Remove and replug the two cables one on the left side and the other on the right side (both on the top side of the hdmi board).

Thanks a lot, while going through older discussion on the thread I found your feedback & followed the steps.... Problem solved... Thanks a lot...

Can some one here, who have auditioned the 520bt and the x1200 tell the differences between both with regards to sound output and quality?

I have heard from a dealer that the internals used are the same except for the 10W more power output, 2 more channels and new technology.

x1200 will be having latest decoders for dolby atmos & dts X. If you have budget and room for accomodting extra speakers ,go for x1200.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
