Free delivery is within European Union I guess, countries like Germany/austria/Italy etc. For Delivery in India you have to pay hefty shipping charge ( due to heavy weight) and also 36.5% customs on (item cost + shipping)..
All inclusine Denon AVR x1200 landing cost from amazon.de is 39250 INR.

No intl warranty is applicable. If the price of delivery is inclusive of customs duties, then there is nothing else to look forward to.

Am looking for Marantz 5010, is there any better option online or buying from here will make sense

If you purchase it from Europe, then you do not require a step down transformer (budget 5-10k) if you were to buy it from US/Canada. Add customs duties (charged 30% on selling price+shipping charges), currency conversion charges (euro to rupees or dollar to rupees). No warranty is applicable. If you get a lemon, you are stuck with it. I believe Amazon allows a 30 day return policy if an equipment fails. Check it nevertheless.

If you buy it in India, you will get 1 yr local warranty and will also pay 14.5% service tax on the negotiated price. The distributor is the one who is making the killing here.

If the spread between overseas and Indian price is more than 25k, then it maybe worthwhile to buy from overseas.

I have a Denon 3313CI (US version). I'm using this with a 2000W 220 to 110V stepdown transformer.

I have 2 issues:
1. Almost every time I power on my step-down transformer, my circuit breaker trips. I tried 2 different transformers (both 2000W) and it is the same issue with both.
2. I have to keep my volume up all the way to 90 (in 0-98 scale) for the music to be decently loud for a party. When I do that, the transformer gets heated very fast and sometimes, it shuts down. I am now using cooling fans.

Does this indicate a power supply issue (as a couple of my friends have indicated)? Are there any authorized (or competent) service center in Chennai to repair Denons? I am out of warranty, so it doesn't have to be an authorized service center.

IMO...
1. The MCB tripping is something related to the transformer and not with the AVR. I am using a 2310 (600W power consumption) with maxine 1500va step-down. If I keep the stepdown switch On (before power on the plug), even if the AVR is not connected to it, it trips my MCB, not always but at least 25% time. So to avoid, I power on equipment in following sequence and never see the issue => Power-plug, power-switch on stepdown, power-switch on AVR.

2. 90 is very high, check the input level settings may be it is set to a very low value. BTW what speakers (sensitivity in DB) you are using, your AVR is 125W and it should be sufficient to drive. In my case I have speakers are 91dB, and once I played this setup in Party Hall (about 1500 sqft) and I had to turn vol upto 60-70 level to shake the glasses.

my 2c from observations... I am no electronic expert :)

Guys,
I bought a Denon X4000 from the US about 18 months ago and have been using it with a step down transformer. There were no issues until yesterday, when my dad decided to do some cleaning of the cabinet and when he plugged it back, he bypassed the transformer and plugged it straight to the mains. Its not powering up now, just wanted to check what would be the cost of repairing it, if it's possible at all? Thanks in advance!

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
