Help Required in buying 42" TV

I would love to go with Panasonic V20 with "Infinite Black Pro" and thinner form.

My budget is max 70k, would most probably go for Plasma or LED and size 42" or more...

When would Panasonic and LG release its 2011 models ?

Try LG LE 8500

Panasonic dealer called my father and told he can give 50X20D for 50k if we are ready to buy before 31st March.

What could be the reason for this offer ?

Why is he giving a discount of 11k on the previous price of 61k quoted by him ?

Maybe there will be new models being announced, maybe its a particular set he is trying to offload ...

But i wonder if any of these companies will announce new products before May ...:)

Plasmas are much better for visual comfort compared to LCD or led. It's like analogue sound vs digital. Go for a plasma. I don't know the model numbers. Also plasma gives u better blacks.

With LED prices slowly touching the Plasma pricing level, prices may go down even further. If that happens plasma's will again fall into best bang for the buck segment ... I wud have used the difference cash to get a good audio setup ... or stow it to buy a nice car later :P

Thanks manu79 and listener for ur replies.

Seems it would be good to wait for little longer before buying the new HDTV... :)

Saw LG 42LE8500 today.:yahoo:

This is what I want...(Thanks Kittu for your suggestion):ohyeah:

Awesome picture quality. :)

It is Panasonic V20 with thinner, sexier look and same PQ...:clapping:

It is quoted at 92.5k at my place. Can anyone help me with the latest price ?

Has anybody else being quoted lesser ? When Can I expect a drop in price ? Already stressed my budget from 60k to 70k, can't go beyond....

Glad u liked the 8500 series. Last time I visited Croma local store it was quoted for 84k . May with hard bargain it can be picked up for 80 ..:) . The prices should be dropping now as some one posted 47 LE 5500 was 72k in LG store .

Prices drop for older models is a continuous trend, but all the newer models would still be quoted at premium prices.
50" Panasonic Plasma @50k seems like a great offer. As another member said, Plasma is definitely better than LED for viewing. For the similar picture quality, you may need to shell out 30-40k more for LED.

Croma jayanagar offered 47 LE 5500 for 80k and 47 LE 9500 for 99k. Talk to Vijendra (sales person).

Guyz, who bought the 42V20D with least price in Bangalore? What was the price and which shop? My friend is buying this week and wanted the best price. Reliance quoted 69K as the best price and Modern world 66K and negotiable once if he drops into the shop. I remember some one bought for 61K from Modern world.

I was quoted 80k 42LE8500, with some bargaining I got a price of 78k in Chroma at phoenix mills. I am looking at 70k though..

I went again today am not getting lower than 78k, have decided to go for Panasonic 42v20d any pointers on where is it available at the lowest price in Mumbai

Panny v20d is the best tv. But LG led tv may be better for u since u play games, due to risk of burn in plasma. If you need a very good VFM option, then check out panasonic 50x20d. Its selling for around Rs. 49,000 in bangalore (Clearance sales).
