Is E6 the best LED that Panasonic has ever produced?

Sad to hear that you are facing clouding issues. Just check if it is only this panel.
Your plasma background is "clouding" the joy of this led, maybe. :)
Anyways, hope you see the best part of the tv and ignore the clouding issues if they are minor.

I googled up, i feel this is definitely back light bleeding and i have the same issue on my Dell ultrasharp monitor.

Backlight Bleeding: A LCD Problem

Check the below DT 60 review out :

Panasonic DT60 review - FlatpanelsDK

When you scroll down in the review they have clearly mentioned this :

As most of you already know, backlight bleeding and clouding can ruin a TV so we have examined Panasonic DT60 in a completely dark room below to check.

Panasonic DT60 has clouding in all four corners; most pronounced in the upper right. It did bother us at times during practical use but it was never a critical issue.

So guess, its a known issue and you have to live with it, with time you will get used to the same.

Feel sad that Panasonic stopped the plasmas. What wonderful technology it is.

I don't know about the settings where the clouding can be reduced but I surely think that plasma is for us, semi-videophiles and videophiles. To me it's not upgrade, it's downgrade other than size.

Ok. I think you should not get disheartened.
And its nothing like downgrade.
Iit is just that you are used to plasma.
Led and plasma have totally different kind of pictures. My sammy led still impresses me when seeing a movie like "life of pi" with its bright colours and sharp rendition.
And remember you own one of best of leds of 2013.
Just holdon and i am sure soon you would start liking your DT60.

I know it takes some adjustment during transition, same thing happened when I moved from LCD to plasma although plasma blew me when I was watching movies :D

I will see Life Of Pi today in 3D and let's see if that can impress me in PQ :p

Saw Epic 3D and the 3D wasn't that impressive when compared to active 3D. No such pop-outs and saw a lot of juddering in fast motion scenes.

Today I saw Zero Dark Thirty and the dark scenes at the end of the movie was horrible. I couldn't see anything, black level on this TV is simply horrible.

I think it's passive 3D and that may be the reason why ? It feels bad, as after using Plasma's you get used to a certain standard of PQ and suddenly if you need to switch to a LED , you realize what you had and what you have ended up with.

It will take Panasonic considerable time to come out with flagship LED's as they have just started completely focusing on this market.

Yep, 3D is passive on DT60. I don't know how people rated this TV so much but my cheap XT50 was more capable than this one. I would never recommend a LED to anyone ever.

Plasma is the king of all displays till date.

Firstly, one is not supposed to turn off any motion processing in leds like they do on plasmas.
Secondly cinema mode is to be used for watching as it will be optimized for smoothening 24hz.
I dont have 3d viewing done for passive displays. It was only 3d demos on lgs which was not great unlike active displays. Pop outs are not actually much on 3d movies except for some specific scenes.
And regarding the climax scene of zero dark thirty, even i too could'nt make out much especially i could not see osama clearly when he is taken down. The haziness is intentional.
Instead try gravity 3d bluray which has clear footage in the dark.

With my experience of talking to people who bought et60, it was quite clear that panasonic has really established itself in led. The person who bought et60 at my instance was cursing why he spent so much on last year's hx850 (also bought at my instance)when he got visibly more colourful and vibrant icture of panasonic for lesser price.
Also we have outstanding reviews from patrons on this forum itself about dt60.

I have motion processing turned on and set to minimum.

I use Cinema mode but not True Cinema, it's too red.

I know that pop-outs are meant for specific scenes but still the juddering ruins the effects.

I'm not talking about the haziness, I'm talking about the dark scenes which can be seen on plasma but hazy on my LED bcoz of the clouding.

I feel google is your best friend, try and see what are the settings others are using, what PQ processing features are turned on and if anyone has posted calibrated settings. Use those and see if it makes a difference.

Hi guys!

I have 2 basic (might be silly too!) doubts about 42E6D. Looking for feedback from existing users.

1. Can I connect wireless speakers to E6D?

2. Can I connect my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse combo to E6D? It comes with a USB receiver.

:signthankspin: in advance!

Hey guys..I plan to go for the kill tomorrow and your inputs regarding the above will be greatly helpful. Please share your thoughts.

Also, please let me know if E6D recognises 500 GB HDD.

Thanks!

1. The E6D has only a digital out so you may need to use a converter such as this to connect. Depends upon the connectivity of your speakers.

2. I use a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo. i suppose Microsoft would also be OK.

I use a 1TB HDD.

Thanks for the info. Will be booking it in a couple of days. Rs. 53,300. :ohyeah:

Perfectly fits my requirements. Btw, there is shortage of this model and the production has been discontinued!

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
