Is E6 the best LED that Panasonic has ever produced?

Apart from limitations of the panel types, picture processing wise, Panasonic is superior to that of LG.

I saw the Panasonic yesterday, despite being a non-IPS the PQ was amazing. I believe IPS panels are supposed to have best picture quality so why does the Pana have better PQ than the LG (despite LG having an IPS panel). I am so confused that I postponed my purchase. I got a quote of 53k for the Pana.
I think you should go for Panasonic :)

They are definitely superior to many panels.

Well...there is only one small issue, the Panels across the E6 range are not the same. Where The 42e6 has a VA panel...the 32" model has an IPS panel, so I am sure the black levels would suffer on the 32" panel. But nevertheless, both the sizes have got equally good reviews...n one can't go wrong gettin either the 32" or 42" or the 50".

So can we conclude, that the panny E6 is one of the best led tv by Panasonic ?

Go with what you liked. I demoed the Panasonic model and liked the picture quality. Thing is I don't want to spend 52k on a 42" and pay for features I won't use like smart TV features. So will demo these models now:

TH-L40B6DX - 40 IPS Panel.
TH-L32E6D - 32 IPS Panel.
TH-L50B6D - 50 IPS Panel.

I am yet to demo an IPS. Let's see what it got

Today I went to two shops to get the price for L42E6D. Both the shops gave the same price.

Original MRP - Rs 65000
Dealer MRP - Rs 63500
Discounted Price - Rs 58400

They showed me another model from LG (42LN5710) and told me that it is also similar to L42E6D. I asked them to put the same video on both the TVs after resetting them to their default settings. Both the TVs produced true colors. L42E6D gave sharp and bright pictures. Meanwhile picture was soft and less bright in LG. It could be due to the IPS panel in LG.

I asked for LG's price quote as well

Original MRP - Rs 65000
Dealer MRP - Rs 63000
Discounted Price - Rs 57300

What do you think? I feel the prices are on the higher side.

I have 50" IPS panel DT60 and black on this panel sucks, color bleedings are there too. Actually, I was having a plasma for past 6 months before getting the replacement and that's what changed my perspective. I still miss plasma

I've fixed my mind on L42E6D. But if you're demoing these models I'll wait for your comparison results.

Whatever you buy, demo those sets before spending that much money. It's not something you buy regularly :)

@Rockfella, had some problems with the 3D on my plasma so had that changed with a LED as plasma wasn't available.

Yup, will demo this thursday. I liked the L42E6D and almost zeroed down to it but later changed my mind as no matter what I wont use the smart features so don't wanna pay for it. Might get a bigger screen with no smart features.
As per the reviews, E series is the best ever LED TV series manufactured by Panasonic so far. You can go for a demo and compare this with L42E6D.

Yup bud, I know all the demos and patience will pay off in the end :) I am a bit confused and have dual minds. Sometimes I think I should buy a Dell 24" LCD and be done with it, sometimes it is 42" sometimes 50". I need a display for my desktop, not buying to watch broadcast TV. BUt again I can watch movies on a big TV so.... at least I am over with Plasma.

Also take your own videos to demo in a pen drive in different formats so you'll know that the TV you've zeroed down can play those formats.

Yup. I did carry a pen drive with my vids with vivid colors, but even if the TV doesn't play some formats I don't have to worry because the TV will be connected to my PC through HDMI and PC plays everything :p There is visible difference in PQ when stuff is played from a desktop with a good gpu. The motherboard I currently have has onboard HDMI port and ATI 3000 gpu. IF i feel the need I will buy a dedicated ATI gpu (fanless this time) :)

I bought this 2 months back for Rs.64.5K. Basic features only with media player for USB. PQ is good on my personal calibration. Quite satisfied with my decision.
Did you compare it with the L42E6D? I am thinking of buying this. Comparing its PQ with the 42E6D tomorrow. Your say?

Reported where? Any retailer you can point me to? I am in Delhi/NCR.
Thanks.

Prices has gone up now as the prices of all electronics might (or will) come down in this budget.

Price of 42E6D is like 52K, last reported.

Am looking to pick up the 42e6d. My question is how good is this tv for single player gaming? I mean for games like uncharted or god of war? Am specifically asking since there's not much feedback on this aspect in this thread. Thanks.

I just got back from Ambiance Mall Gurgaon and took some demos. I think I will zero down to the 42E6D because it is an all rounder. I have to bear with a silver bezel again!
