Is E6 the best LED that Panasonic has ever produced?

I would always recommend the LA6910 as I love 3D and it's PQ is stunning. BTW, I haven't seen SD on that TV.

Thank you. Got delivery of the LG 42 LA6910 over the weekend and this is a beautiful set. SD was definitely much better on the Panasonic. If it were not for the usage on that piece, I would have stuck to the panny! But the 3d on the lg more than makes up for it. Awesome 2d to 3d conversion. And there's miracast support. I'm still trying to figure out how to mirror my Nexus's screen onto the TV! :)

Hi,

Simple advise, there are tons of reviews available on the net which can influence your decision. What you need to do is simple.
Decide on what kind of TV you want to purchase.....remember at some point you may want to connect it to your Home Threatre system or DVD player. Check the connectors. The most important check the setbox you will be using to watch Cable TV / Dish TV.
LED TVs have a shelf life of 3-5 years..the most important thing to look out for is warranty..Toshiba is the only one offering 3 years warranty and I feel this is indeed value for money from a consumer standpoint. Before going for a 3D, HD or 4K TV, ask yourself how many hours will you spend watching this TV considering our busy lives in a week? There are almost 20 channels which are Digital from the Cable Operator..not all channels are watched by everyone uniformly. Go to a Vijay Sales / E Zone and see the TVs on display, look at the quality and sound from different angles and make a proper decision. It is better to put Discovery / NatGEo to see the greens / water hues etc to make a suitable comparision. I did all this and finally went for a Toshiba which is indeed value for money and suits my needs. I did not purchase from Va ijay Sales as I feel they just hype the price, I got it from the local TV shop in the area who gave it much cheaper and with the same 3 year warranty.

Yes. Nice point. Greens and water hues are the ones to be compared. The tv set that displays them in the most natural way without artificial touch is the best one.
Again all colours may not be accurate. So here comes the need of professional reviews which perform tests.
Sometimes knowing that your tv set displays accurate colors is gratifying than actually able to feel and compare all hues of all colors.

I dont know where to post this so posting here. Can anyone help me find a 2RCA to 3.5mm Female cable of 3meters or more length? I plan to use headphones to connect to the TV which is placed 9 feet away.

Hi,

You can get the same online...mdr electronics manufactures MX cables...try the online shopping websites...sure you can get 3-5 meters cable.

Hope this helps.

Question is, does smart feature matter to you ?

With a 1 Mbps connection and a fair usage limit of 30 GB a month, I don't think I won't be using the smart features at all. Just wanted to know whether it's that slow as told by the reviewer.

The thing is I don't need those smart features.

Agree with that. Even I don't need those smart features. Just wanted to know whether it's it's that slow as told by the reviewer.

It's not that slow, can be little sluggish once in a while. That's all.

Wide Viewing Angle, may be they're not sure how wide :D

With the hardware getting cheaper, even the low end phones are sporting a quadcore processor.
And I dont know why Panasonic is so mean in not even using a dualcore processor . The same processor has to download content from youtube and also accept user inputs at the same time.
No wonder smart features are sluggish.

Have the TV prices gone up recently? Samsung estore was listing 40F5500 for Rs 61900 one month back. Now the price is Rs 64900. Met an Assistant Manager - Samsung Sales recently. What he told was dealers can give a discount upto 11-12% on MRP. So when MRP was 61900 he told he can get it for me for Rs 55000.

What's the MRP of L42E6D?

Prices has gone up now as the prices of all electronics might (or will) come down in this budget.

Price of 42E6D is like 52K, last reported.

Today I went to two shops to get the price for L42E6D. Both the shops gave the same price.

Original MRP - Rs 65000
Dealer MRP - Rs 63500
Discounted Price - Rs 58400

They showed me another model from LG (42LN5710) and told me that it is also similar to L42E6D. I asked them to put the same video on both the TVs after resetting them to their default settings. Both the TVs produced true colors. L42E6D gave sharp and bright pictures. Meanwhile picture was soft and less bright in LG. It could be due to the IPS panel in LG.

I asked for LG's price quote as well

Original MRP - Rs 65000
Dealer MRP - Rs 63000
Discounted Price - Rs 57300

What do you think? I feel the prices are on the higher side.
