LG 2016 OLED Owner's Discussion

will reseting to initial settings remove the hrs the panel is on, which is in about tv?

No it will not. The hours will remain. Just checking, are you using the correct HDMI cables to connect your various devices. Though I doubt that'll be the problem, but always good to rule out.

thats good will give reset to intial settings a try, hope its some software issue & not hardware, well got warranty but who wants the hassle. The issue starts with my d2h 4k stb & then when the patchy colors are on screen it comes everywhere even on the inbuilt apps like amazon, A reset in the picture mode brings colors back to normal, i m using an old hdmi (high speed) cable between stb & tv, will change that with another cable & also will try a factory reset to see if the issue goes, otherwise will have to call Lg, hope they replace my unit with the new 55C7 thats out now on their site :ohyeah:

You need to replace those cables with premium marked HDMI cables. There is known to be an issue with the high speed ones.

Even if they do replace it with C7, you'll have to pay the difference.

which hdmi cables you are using to connect your stb to your oled? i got standard hdmi cables that came with the 4k d2h box, should i try these or amazon basic 4k ones.

When I play videos from YouTube app, the resolution never goes beyond 1920x1080.
Tested the same on my other LG 4K TV UHD617T, same here, it never plays 4k videos from YouTube.

To rule out network issues, I tested Netflix app, 4K streaming from netflix is working fine on the same connection.

Is anyone facing the same issue? Is this YouTube app limitation?

I think LG does only HD from YouTube.
Oh God I thought these issues don't exist on Branded TVs. Even a TCL Android TV does 1080p streaming on YouTube. Xbox one S is another one with no 4k YouTube support (displays but plays only 1080p 25/30Hz mp4 instead of high quality 50/60Hz 1080p or 4K videos

Hi Guys,

I bought the E6 few days ago from Devi (Jayanagar, Bangalore). I saw few scratches on the back panel. When enquired, LG technician and Devi sales said this is not a problem, happens during packing/handling. Anyone who has had a similar experience, please share. Thanks

the back panel suppose to have a protective film, even the front screen had one with my 55B6, you had a film on the back?

Cheers.

Thanks buddy! I found it on the back side also. I didn't see it well first time. The LG guy misguided us, he said it's not there and the front on should not be removed. This is just so untrue. Please see the link here and both must be removed before first use else it screws the picture quality and the panel itself. Am so angry on that technician now!

Thanks buddy! I found it on the back side also. I overlooked the first time. Also the LG technician misguided us saying it's not there in the back and the front film should not be removed. That's so untrue. If we don't remove these films it screws up the picture and also the panel finally. Am so pissed of at th LG guy now.
