Hi All,
Just read the complete thread after a long time..
Sorry for I could not contribute much due to my personal reasons.
Still my replacement did not arrive.
My complaint was made a month back. At that time the Manager of Bangalore operations offered me a Money back or wait till the replacement. Now the situation is still the same. They say they are not able to procure the stocks and hence only option is the Money back.
But I want the replacement only as I am satisfied with the performance of the TV apart from the problems which I have now.

Note: The problem with my set is two stuck pixels

The PQ has improved a lot with usage.

Why dont you take the money back and join the groupbuy program may get it for less  some savings and a new set .. What say ?

Well Look at it the bright side.. you have a TV which apart from 2 dead pixels works perfectly. My PK is dead and it's like an expensive mirror, I have been told stocks will arrive after a fortnight and then I'll get a replacement.

I am very sorry for your state....
But are you sure about the replacements in a fortnight?
Cause they told me they are unable to obtain stock. Who is your POC? Please PM me the details?

They said "Atleast a fortnight" Besides I have a panel which died on the day of the installation itself, so I think they will prioritize depending on the severity of the problem. A lot of folks in hifivision managed to get replacement only on the basis of the green dancing pixels, so maybe they are weary. No stock issues for the PJ series.

It would be very good if replacements are done quicker.
As a matter of fact, my current set is a replaced one only.
My first set had four stuck pixels and was replaced in 4 days. But after then they found that the issues are with July batch. So they asked me to wait for the next batch which they are not able to procure till now.

you could ask for a standby with available model as the set is dead

I think for two stuck pixels if they are replacing that is nice, for example samsung has a 7 pixel policy

you could try programs like jscreen fix to see if that will goaway

Thanks borg :)
I tried all possible solutions like those from the internet but no luck..
Moreover as the pixels are at the center of the screen, they are ready for just two.. I hope the policy in samsung should also be some thing of that sort with respect to the location of the stuck/dead pixels...

bad news...no stock of 50PK500 so I guess Kiranmob was right. they dont even have the model in transit to bangalore atleast. They have offered me any other LCD model, but I am hell bent on the PK. SO tehy will give me a standby TV till stocks come

because 1. They will be more expensive 2. I loved the PK550 while it was still working and once you have that hanging in your home, it's difficult to compromise for another set 3. I love the Plasma picture, I feel LCD pics are too artificial and plasticky

why dont you take LD650 - LCD of 46 or 47"

Yep the only TVs which would be comparable to a 50" Plasma FHD would be the 47" Full LED LCD with local dimming...and they would cost twice as much, though weight and power consumption would be half. I dont watch mindless TVs anyhow so I'll go with a plasma...thank you very much, and I need a full HD one cos I intend to hook up my monster gaming pc. If that wasnt the case, I couldve settled for a PJ.

What where did u get that from ?

Plasma vs LCD TV Response Time

Generally speaking if you are watching content with high speed scenes a plasma TV will offer an advantage versus LCD TV. This is because its response time is lower. This puts the Plasma TV right on top for sports, and games. If you watch fast moving scenes as sports on a LCD TV, you will see a blur around the edges of the moving objects. Note however that if you use to play games a lot of time, a plasma TV is not such a great idea because of it's susceptibility to burn-in. There are LCD TVs on the market now with fast response time, and one could get a model with response time of 5ms or lower. You just have to keep in mind that if crisp picture is important for you, a low response time (high refresh rate) is a feature you should be looking for.
