@Reds4Ever/Satan
Did dark room comparison between my samsung and VT20 plasmas with a black wallpaper (ms paint image with black fill) just now. (Different rooms though)
Same WDTV player with same material in both cases.
Blacks do not compare at all. It is surprising how much we get used to these and set the reference. Iam sorry to have caused confusion. The Samsung plasma is much more greyer.
Actual content:
Skin colours/colour reproduction and SD are still better in samsung.
B450 does not have the background/forground seperated properly though. The Depth perception is also bad. The naked eye 3D effect we get in 2D films with VT20 was missing in the B450. (Iam not talking about the 3D content here. Iam talking about 2D depth if you know what I mean).
Blacks are also a different league in the VT20. Details is miles ahead (B450 is only 720p and it is kind of expected)
The above observation is on seeing the samsung B450 after 2 weeks of getting used to watching the VT20.
To give you perspective of black change I was mentioning earlier, do the below.
Keep the TV in PC mode or display a black image and enter the service menu.
In service menu, press 1 two times to select the white-balance adjustment, the TV loses some black in this section due to some post processing.
From this point, if you move back and forth using 1 & 2 keys, you can see the difference.
This is the amount change I was talking about. It may matter to you or it may not.
