congrts oyster. Fantastic products. How do they sound?

Thanks mate.
Earlier i was using O2 with HP50A. Now though O2 is quite a good amp with ample power even for orthos ,it really cannot compete with proper desktop amps when it comes to dynamics.

HP50a sounds quite bassy with the EHHA. I was surprised to hear this as my pair has always sounded quite balanced. So, probably my DAC is to blame here. Though bassy , the bass quality is very very good (tight & textured). With the O2 i really could not make out the sound signature of my DAC. EHHA in comparison is much more transparent. It clearly reveals the signature of my DAC. Having said that i must say that this Firestone DAC is quite capable.

HP1 VS HP50A - After acquiring the EHHA my first query was how much of an improvement are the HP1 over HP50A?
HP50A - More mid bass (kinda explosive), very good stage depth, limited stereo separation, average imaging, good resolution & definition, mids are sublime with reaaaallllly nice body & emotion to them.

HP1 - Equal or perhaps more sub bass than HP50, very flat mid bass, great imaging, definitely better resolution, much extended treble, very good mids with even better emotion due to increased smoothness but the body is not as much as HP50A (this is typical of the HP1 as observed on another pair of HP1 as well), in direct comparison HP1 may sound thin but after getting used to it one cannot stop admiring the better resolution & detail, require lots of power to drive.

Dear All,

Around 5.00 PM, I got my Yamaha 673 and step down Tx. from Avenuesound through welcome logistic -> TCI XPS. AVR was intact however Tx body and as a result some inner wiring were damaged. I could not wait to go in loop for getting it replaced / repaired or any further wait, and spend an hour to dismantle it -> rectify -> assemble it. Being pure HV electric circuit, it was an easy job.
Now the units are up and running.
Performance....I'm loving it!!!!!!! :yahoo: :clapping: (can't represent my grin through smaller icons). Result of 1.5 years of planing, R&D (hifivision being major source) and patience is well paying off.

Some pics are attached.

Regards!!!

Bought a APC UPS 600VA model BR600-Ci-Bi for Rs 2,150 for replacing my faulty UPS. I hope this counts as a new purchase! Nice unit with lots of nifty features.

I was eyeing KEF Q300 from last few weeks, had multple discussions at home and in the end yesterday i bought Tannoy Mercury V1 for my marantz pm6003, So my first music system setup is complete with this. my source time being is panasonic dmp bdt 220. will consider buying a cd player or a dac after few months.

My unexperienced ears say that these speakers are really good for my requirements and the money i paid. Bass is slightly lessor, but anyway that does not impact me as i am not a heavy bass lover. I think you cannot get something better than this at this price point. A very good entry/budget speaker but bass lovers will not like it.

Regards, Amit

Congratulations on your purchase Amit! How much did you pay for it and where did you buy it from?

Hi Mpw

I will be uploading the pictures by tomorrow or so. my current woodwork(interiors) doesnt allow use of stands, they are kept on a sturdy lcd plateform at height of about 1.25 feet from the floor. will slowly explore the options on placements and see what best can be done.

Hi E - katz

Thanks, I bought used ones outside the forum, speakers are abt 15 months old, seller claims that he has used it for less than 100 hrs as he went abroad for 9 months after buying these speakers. Infact the reason for sale is relocation to US. Condition wise speaker looks like new one only, no scrates at all, i purchased them for 10k including 5 meters bandridge cable. You can buy/audition these speakers at htstore, Bangalore.

hi sandeepmohan, i was given a quote of 899$ for the amp plus shipping of 335$ by emotiva, the custom duty was, as i was informed at 30%, so the total cost came to about ?82000/- approx. at a conversion rate of ?55/- per $. so wen i was offered ?75k by avenue sound i agreed. that is the only reason. yes i may be misinformed on any of the above info. in that case my bad..i plan to get a xpa2 in the near future, will keep your suggestion in mind.
thanks:)
