Right now I am listening to ...

Thanks for sharing... been reading up on them and watching/listening on YT.

Due to paucity of time couldn't search on the likes of Spotify, but did so over the weekend. 5 albums available and started listening - post midnight with whisky - thanks buddy. Ali Farka Tour has been the only intro to this world of music so far.

TCHeN, glad you ventured a bit more in that territory! I assure you it would be rewarding. I first came across Tamkikrest while looking up audio gear reviews on YT. One of the videos demoed "Aratan N Tinariwen" and I was hooked. Looked up their albums online and here I am.

Imho, they are one of the most honest bands I have heard. Along with Tinariwen, Bombino and Terakaft, they are forging a new "sound", direction & intention for their music. Desert rebels with a musical cause, if I may!

You must listen to Bombino's 2011 album Agadez. Stunning guitar playing.

Unbelievable...Just the stuff I was spinning these past few days! Roy Buchanan is the guitarist's guitarist. I firmly believe The Messiah Will Come Again :)!

Eclectic tastes my friend, after my own musical head & heart!

The guy was a genius... too bad never hit the big time.

I'm on a sort of discovery/journey of such artists, especially guitar mavericks in the blues genre.

Danny Gatton is next on the list.

Not exactly right now...but on the way to work and back.

Nice package of Robbie's biggest hits. Very enjoyable on my MEMT X5 earphones. Not soda pop definitely.

This needs no introduction. As good as thrash metal can get for folks like me.

U bet. They rock hard but retain the emotion & art unlike American bands ;).

The Brits were (are) a class apart - Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues, The Who, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Rainbow, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream, The Animals, The Police, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Duran Duran, Genesis, Status Quo, The Clash, The Cure, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Marillion, The Yardbirds, Queen, Iron Maiden, and of course Radiohead.

And all this without counting the other genres like Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Londonbeat, etc. that I've heard/loved over the years.

Man... now you got me all nostalgic... going to be spending the next couple of weeks going through all the Brit bands.

May i add Judas priest, Motorhead, Black sabbath, Iron maiden, Saxon, and Def leppard. It actually doesn't end with just music, a lot of reputed audio equipment also comes from there.

All in there with the (glaring???) exception of Black Sabbath... used to hear them too early on, especially the Paranoid album... then kind of fell out of love with them.

I'm huge on Iron Maiden and Def Leppard (from this subset).

Saxon... well I've never heard them. I guess nobody I know owned a tape or a CD... so I was never introduced to them.

Quite a coincidence this... just a couple of days back was watching the BBC rockumentary on the Marshall guitar amps.

Might be of interest to others - BBC Four - Play it Loud: The Story of the Marshall Amp, "He decided there and then that he was going to build a rock and roll amplifier".

Oh Crap.... I read through them all and then read again and still posted that :P (Apologies)
I do go back to Black Sabbath once in a while. Was one of the first three albums(Tapes) I was given by my brother. (Brave new world and Human clay being the other two)

I'm huge on Iron Maiden and Def Leppard (from this subset).

I love Iron Maiden not so much a fan of Def Leppard. On a side note - have you noticed crackling and some unwanted distortion in the Track Brave new world? I was wonderering if it was only there on my CD or is it in the recording itself. (First thought was there is something wrong with my new iems and i almost lost my mind)

Saxon... well I've never heard them. I guess nobody I know owned a tape or a CD... so I was never introduced to them.

Give them a listen you might like them, i am pesonally not a very big fan but i know people who really love them.

Thanks for the link, I shall watch it once i am home. I have never owned a Marshal myself although I have played on a few over the years. I own a fender now and have owned a Hartke before.
