Increase your budget to 41k and try getting Sony 32 incher W650A...super TV this..My friend is using a 42 inch model and has been praising it for days..and i have neen it in showroom...its too good compared to the 2012 series 6 samsung i own..

pls suggest me good full hd tv lg or samsung planned to buy from singapore pls help me price around S$ 550

Do you have any size requirements?
The new range from Sony is pretty good. I don't have much information about LG - no new model reviews that I have come across.

Also remember, Sony has clearly stated, that if you buy TV's from abroad, you need to ensure you have international warranty + India has to be specifically mentioned in the warranty coverage. Only then will Sony India honour that warranty.

32inch tv ...ok give me that sony models but i dont prefer internet option i need good picture quality full hd resolution and better sound quality....and it should support all formats like mkv..avi,mp4 like things pls suggest me around 550dollar

At 32 inches you will fail to see any difference between fullHD and HD. So get an HD and save money.

What you heard is true.

Guys...need to buy a 32" led....not a high budget...Arnd 35k max. Can u please suggest some options.
I have a Philips 32" 5000 series which has gone bust just 2 days back. Now, I will be taking it to Philips tommorow...don't know what to expect. If the repair charges is Arnd 5k or so...would get it repaired or otherwise get a new tv.
Any suggestions ?

I mostly watch SD content....but play ps3 n blue ray movies sometimes. I'd say the ratio would be 80/20.

sanchits.. if you are sure that for next few years you will be still using the TV for SD and occasional BD/ PS3, then go for a HD ready set instead of a Full HD, as HD ready sets are really good for SD PQ.

But as the world is moving for better technology, it is better to be future proof. Going ahead most of the channels will shift to HD broadcasting. In that case, you will enjoy more with a full HD TV. For full HD, minimum size recommended is 40". The bigger, the better (with bigger size the SD PQ will go down proportinately).

So take an informed choice.

Guys,

In terms of 2D PQ between Sony W700 and W800, which is better.

Does W700 have local dimming.

Think W700 uses VA panel. Does it mean it has better black level than W800 using IPS panel.

Help me out in selecting between the two.

Budget 85k, Viewing distance 7 Ft , 3D not a priority.

today i saw demo of sony w600a i like it very much ..pls suggest me whether i want to buy or not how about this tv.....help me

Santh,

I've read your posts whether to buy from SG and which one. My experience with tv import is zero. There are dedicated threads to help you.

Regarding your actual purchase, I would suggest Samsung F5500 or Sony W700. You are looking for 32" and not interested in 3D or smart features, correct?

I can't comment on SG prices as I am unaware.

SG prices are at par with India, and in some cases even more, except for some special deal on some specific items (usually older models). With the hassle of cargo handling at airport and the customs (though for 32" it shall not be an issue) and on top of it "without warranty" does not make sense. It makes sense only if you can get it at atleast 30-40% cheaper than Indian prices, with warranty. That is possible only if you buy from Thailand or may be Malayasia.

I think you mean F6400 and the obvious W800. Both are good. I did a demo of them side by side and posted impressions on one of the W800 thread.

I felt W800 overblows colors a bit but in a nice way. It has good viewing angles. Not very deep blacks but better than LG. Mostly uniform screen. Misses out on shadow details. If watching DTH HD or bright bluray materials in a lit room then you'll be amazed by the PQ.

F6400 was a bit sharper but can't know outside of direct comparison. Not so great viewing angles. It was a bit more warm that many movie lovers will like.

Motion was similar.

Many will favour the W800 and definitely not a bad decision.

I see that Samsung F6400 comes with two remotes.. voice control etc..active 3D.. seems that many more features are there in F6400 than in W800.. is this correct ?

Buck of useless features that provide no joy beyond initial fascination. Check PQ and go for the TV with better PQ.
