The A-Team [2010][Theatrical]

The A-Team (2010)

A good Action/Comedy movie. Story is not so bad, has got some good humor here and there, lot of visual effects (again nicely done), nice supporting performance by Sharlto Copley. Sound mixing is also done well. And last but not the least good cinematography.

cheers.

The A-Team [2010][Theatrical] The A-Team (2010)

The A-Team was actually a very popular TV series that ran from 1983 to 1987. What the producers of this movie has done well was to match the faces of the original team consisting of George Peppard as John 'Hannibal' Smith, Dwight Schultz as 'Howling Mad' Murdock, Mr. T as B.A. Baracus, and Dirk Benedict as Templeton 'Faceman' Peck.

Both Murdock and Peck were completely hilarious in the original series. And George Peppard was always the pillar of strength who would come with solutions for every scenario.

Though Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, and Sharlto Copley tried their best, they were a far cry from the original team. But then, that is the issue with all remakes.

See the original team here.

Cheers

What More Do I Want [2010][DVD]

What More Do I Want (2010)

A good Italian Drama movie. The personalty of the characters in the lead role is very strange and nicely done. Their state of mind changes instantly depending on the situation. Good cinematography.

cheers.

Venkat, I agree with you, those sure were the days, with serials like The A-Team, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Love Boat, Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Mind Your Language et al.

and X-Files, and Star Trek, and ......!!

They are remaking Knight Rider with a younger star and more modern car. I have seen a few of these episodes and they are good.

Fortunately most of these serials are available as DVDs. Over the last few weeks I finished seeing the complete Sherlock Holmes series. Jeremy Brett was just too good as Holmes with his accent, adventurous spirit, recklessness, and of course, wit mixed with sarcasm. His dialogue delivery is also superb, with correct pronunciation of every word.

Cheers

@ Venkat - Absolutely!!. Captain Kirk and Spock with those long ears. I am not sure the remake would be as good as David Hasselhoff in his hey days and KITT.

There also used to be a serial called Airwolf with a black helicopter starring Jean Michael Vincent if my memory serves me right.

It is a coincidence, but I finished seeing the entire 7 seasons of Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in the last couple of weeks too. Jeremy Brett is the best version of Sherlock Holmes I have seen. I was also surprised to see a young Jeremy act in the movie My Fair Lady.

We should meet up some time Venkat, we seem to have similar (old) tastes :).

Absolutely. Airwolf was also too good. Airwolf was re-filmed with a new crew but that did not become very popular. Though many of these TV serials can be taken with much better graphics and technology, you cannot get a Jean Michael Vincent, a William Shatner, a Leonard Nimoy again. It was these people who made or broke a series. I just cannot imagine a X-File with David Duchovny. Sigh!!

One story that never got serialised, to my utter disappointment, was Modesty Blaise. Fortunately I have all the books, and most of the comics also.

Anytime friend. It will be wonderful watching a few of these with a soul mate who knows when to laugh at the right time. I have had embarrassing moments, when I have guffawed at 'the game is afoot, my friend' and had all others staring at me.

Cheers

The BBC is launching a revised and new version of the Sherlock holmes serial which has gained critical acclaim, might be worth viewing.

Amish Grace [2010][Theaterical]

Amish Grace (2010) (TV)

An excellent Drama movie based on true story. Story is good, (but strange), very good screenplay supported by good dialogue. Good performance by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tammy Blanchard and Matt Letscher. The movie is full of emotions, again neatly done.

HIGHLY recommend to watch!!!

cheers.

Boy [2010][Bluray]

Yes. It's good stuff. Its sherlock holmes set in present day. Unfortunately only a three episode pilot has been produced and aired. Further episodes are not yet confirmed.

I very recently seen this movie Pulijanmam (malayalam) and really appreciate the acting skills of Murali. Wonderful!! One of my favourite movies stars at all times! (http://varnachitram.com/2006/06/02/review-roundup-pulijanmam/)
Has any one seen it? How do you rate this? Iam sure this is not for those all time entertainers or the kind of usual commerical movies.
But really appreciate his work in this.

The Movie I wish I had never watched:

I watched a movie called "Serbian Film" "Srpski film" (Name of the movie) - Its about a porn stars life & the hurdles he faces, but what made me watch is the movie is said to have true events incorporated..after watching this piece of ****, i wonder how such people live among us!

Its a movie which has explicit scenes & family emotions, I puked at the end of the movie, couldnt sleep properly for the next 2/3 days...even if i think about it..& its NOT a porn movie as such..

No ratings though, & i strongly reccomend NOT to watch this movie!
