I am going to be preoccupied listening to these albums for sometime now. A great summer break for me :)

I love Ella! I don't have this album of hers! My birthday is 'round the corner!
HINT!!!!!

Nice hint! This particular pressing is actually going back to Classic Records. The second to last track on Side B has vinyl damage and consistent ticks. This is very annoying as this is a very quite voice plus piano recording only. Any noise becomes an issue. The rest of the album is perfect. Sucks! Have to wait for an RMA number now.

Hi Vasu,
that's really cool. The albums look awesome. How long do Rhythm house take to ship and how is the packing? It seems vinyl is slowly but surely making a comeback in India.
Thanks.

Ordered come away with me.. Shaizada is a bad influence since at the last minute I got the classic records version

Vasu, man those are FANTASTIC picks! Proud of you man :) You did really well. So what did you think of the Meeting By The River 45rpm? That is probably in the top 2 or 3 amazing sounding records I have in my collection. Love it wayyyyyyyyyy to much.

@bottle, you'll be so glad to picked the Classic Records version. It was mastered on an all tube system AND cut on a tube based lathe. It's analog done the right way and the difference is VERY apparent.

Thanks Shaizada,
I haven't yet put the needle on Meeting by The River.
My son, who at last, is graduating from hindi music to some rock is a big fan of Doors. We have been playing The Doors for the last couple of days. At first he was not impressed with vinyl because it didn't have a digital harshness of comp speakers that he listens his music on. But after couple of plays he said he finds music on vinyl much soothing and easy on ear. I have Neil Young - Harvest also on cd and when i played both vinyl and cd together A/B'ing with the source control he clearly made out the difference and said he could hear pedal drums clearly on vinyl with the cymbals having more lifelike character.
It seems i am getting more drawn to vinyl. Next step is uprading my vinyl rig. Sadly i'll have to wait a little longer to that to materialise.
Regards
Vasu

I was listening old to old Kishore LPs over the weekend- Abhimaan, Yeh Vaada Rahaa, Amar Prem. 'Yeh Kya Huan' from Amar Prem and "Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Raina' from Abhimaan just sound gorgeous on LP -rich and full-bodied.

Just bought the vinyl reissue of 'Hotel California' which is on a 180 gms vinyl mastered by AcousticTech from original master tapes. Itching to compare it with the original LP which I have.

Also, has anybody heard the album 'Road to Escondido' by JJ Cale and Eric Clapton? How is the music? Rhythm House has the half speed master LP available. How is this recording?

Dude are you kidding me! Grab that LP ASAP!!! That is an absolutely awesome album and both musicians absolutely shine on it. The tone, body and beauty of instruments have been reworked like magic.

Why are you still reading this post? Please grab it b4 someone else does. :o

Thats a Stan Ricker pressing man. He's a mastering GURU!

The 45 rpm pressing of Meeting By River is awesome. It blew away the cd. The vinyl has detail in spades with big soundstage and good 3d imaging. The cd in comparison is sounding tiny and anaemic.

The price of the record out here is Rs.2,500 which I find is too high.I will probably order it from Amazon where is it available at $35. Even with courier charges, it will come out to be cheaper.

I heard the 180gms reissue of Hotel California mastered from the original tapes. Excellent sound. It is more detailed, dynamic and true to timbre compared to the original record and is super quite. The original sounds dulll in comparison possibly due to age.

I think, in most cases record prices in India are cheaper compare to Acoustic Sound and Amazon. Acoustic Sound is selling Neil Young "Harvest" for 35 dollars and after adding postage, which i found works out to 18-20 dollars per record, you will end up with the price of 53 dollars a record which is roughly 2500 rupees whereas the same is being sold for Rs.995 at Rhythm House, Mumbai. Same is with Eric Clapton's "Reptile". Acoustic Sound price 30 dollars + 18 dollars = 48 dollars (approx 1900 rupees). Rhythm house price Rs.1295.
One more example, a box set of The Doors consisting of 7 records of 180 gram vinyl is priced at 250 dollars at Acoustic Sound. This box set is so heavy im sure you will end up paying some 100-150 dollars extra for shipping. I got the same box set for Rs.4990 from Rhythm House.
Hope this helps.

I get the vinyl through online from Rhythm House. Currently they are shipping free anywhere in India. They are getting the vinyl through the companies which have presence in India.
I got two records from Amazon and i was charged 42 dollars for the same. It was USPS express delivery (Trackable) and i received the consignment in 13 days. USPS Air Mail is cheaper but that's non-trackable and every online vendor don't have an option of USPS Airmail. I ordered 4 albums with Importcd.com with an option of non trackable USPS Air Mail on 8th March and i am still waiting for them to be delivered.
