What watch do you wear?

I've always liked Timex and have around half a dozen assorted models along with some 80s Seiko5s and newer Casios. However, few years back I stumbled up my favorite watch...Citizen Skyhawk JY0030-52E (PMV65-2241)

It does look impressive, if you don't mind, how much does it cost now?

Not sure if this particular model is available anymore. My model is JY0030-52E. This was a Japan only model with DLC coated full Titanium and Saphire glass with some minor enhancements to the regular clasp mechanism iirc. Should cost you upwards of $1k.

The US version should be available without the above specific features and ofcourse you can find the newer versions easily in any citizen authorized showrooms. The similar US version named JY0000-53E is listed in amazon for a discounted $487.50 as we speak.

Thank you unleash,I will have a look sir, I am glad I started thius thread as it does give me some ideas / options for future.

Thank you everyone for contributing to this thread as I am starting to make a small list of what may be feasible for me/ looks nice for me. I guess I may set aside some of my planned hifi funds for a watch in future :)

If you are a man and want your watch to reflect your style and class - there are only 2 watches for you ... Rolex and Omega. There are of course Patek Phillip , Cartier etc but they are heirloom, jewellery.

I wear an Omega 22k gold constellation with diamond.

What class/ style would a Casio/Citizen/Titan/Seiko reflect Vishal

A colleague of mine had a rule never to spend more than GB5.00 on a watch. When anyone talked about more expensive stuff, he would say, "my 5 watch tells the time just as well." His point can't be denied.

Mind you, I love the look of corElements #33 :)

This is what I wear. A Citizen Eco-Drive (I don't remember what model it is). I've been using it for about 12 years now.

It is pretty much battered now as I have been wearing it nearly all my waking hours all these years. I actually rarely use it to tell time, but without it, I feel naked.

Every time I see a pretty watch that tempts me, I remind myself that the money is better spent on music, as long as the watch works well. I'll replace it with something in the 10k to 15k range when it dies.

You would love the looks of his chariot too ...... :licklips::eek::eek::thumbsup:

I am also one of those who don't wear a watch. Mobile phones, computers, wall clocks etc. are all that I use.

My watch alternates between a Casio Edifice AnaDigi (all purpose), a Timex Expedition (sports) and a TommyHilfiger. Love the chronographs ;)

i am reminded of a story of a taciturn gentleman. every time he rode the train he used to buy a pocketful of cheap watches.
whenever any travelling compatriot eager to strike up a conversation with him asked him for time, he used to pull a watch out of his pocket, tell him the time and then throw the watch away. nobody bothered him for the rest of his journey.

First of all if you are a man you want to reflect your style and class neat dress is necessary and then some kind of pad(ipad / galaxy ) or something + superb spectacles(cooling glass), no body judge a man with an watch NOW.. That period has gone.:p

Kendun, i got you an another topic to start " What glass you wear "..

Oh, ya, that is my reaction too:lol:

LOL MINE TOO! :ohyeah::ohyeah:

Thanks! I totally adore the Richelieu.

Taken very meticulous care of it the past 10 years because I'm very very picky about what watch I wear and I have yet to come across a watch that I like as much as the Richelieu I have.

It's a small swiss watchmaker who sell mostly by word of mouth at Swiss watch stores in France and Switzerland. Not mass market. They don't even have a website. My one was bought from Geneva.

Have a watch for each day of the week that was when i was on a buying spree better sense prevailed sooner rather than later and I dont plan to buy any more in the near future

Hi,
I got my first watch as a gift from a relative when i passed out ssc,... don't ask what percentage i got :D:D:D;)usually those days everybody use to gift watches to people passing out schools and colleges, nowadays i guess pricey mobiles is the trend:rolleyes: anyway mine was good old hmt er.. i don't remember the model no.but it really was a nice watch with big golden dial with stainless steel strap and with day and date, i used it many years until i got my next watch with my own salary a citizen eco drive around 4.5k,recently my wife got me another citizen eco drive with sappire glass at 11k and for herself another ecodrive with sappire glass at 12.5k which sadly she lost at bangkok when we were there watching a show.

I still wear a Titan stainless steel watch from year 1993. My dad bought it for me as a present after I passed second year diploma in engineering.
