Hi denom,do you really finalise 15.5k?color of any choice?
Hard to believe & thinking of joining you guys.

The writing is on the wall, I know its hard to believe but that is it, now if you guys still keep thinking negatively, then I cannot help it & its a collective loss of a steal deal for all of us.
So if you guys continue with 'ifs & buts' then thats the end of it.

The very thought of putting MY neck on the line for the chop is terrifying but then one has to make a daring move to get what one wants right??? So collectively the ball is in your court people!

I am terribly confused here. I don't have any CD with me and only music files that I've are on my PC. The only reason why I am interested in buying this is that the device is capable of reading files off the pen drive (and the assumption that it will sound as good as a CD).

Not to mention that usability has a definite role to play here. The comfort of sitting on the couch and then controlling the music through a remote control is surely pleasing and what I am looking forward to.

The problem is the Squeezebox touch. The device costs nearly the same but the comfort is more in that. Again its better suited for my kind of music library but the problem with that thing is the NOT SO GOOD DAC.

What do you guys suggest on this one ?

i am pretty much in the same boat. dont have much physical media and almost all is soft. so was thinking that if i have to buy a hi end cdp then why not go ahead with oppo bd players as they would also be good cdps. i also have a wd media player but then again dac is an issue. so i am also confused. and by no means am i saying that this deal and the player is not good. just trying to find out what suits me

Me too ... on the same boat. Struggling to see which would suit the most. One question though. The spec says the USB is ipod compatible. Does it mean the USB input is only to connect iPod or can I also connect pen drives. Again if pen drives are OK, does it have to be only FAT types or also NTSC types.

I too have very few CDs, all my music is in FLAC or MP3 format. I use BriteView 5005 media player for playing from PC or USB stick or even MP3 player. I think its DAC does a good job, sound is definitely better through it than playing directly from the MP3 player to the amp.

Only negative is that I need to switch on the TV to view and navigate the folder structure. But the convenience of the remote more than makes up for it.

IMO, unless you expect to build up a CD collection, you are better off with a DAC unit that offers more comfort & convenience. Heck, even if I had CDs, I'd probably rip them to WAVs or FLACs and use the DAC/media player just for the convenience. No worrying about cleaning, changing & storing the CDs. All my music is stored nicely at one place with a safe backup on a RAID-1 array.

Cheers

Teja, siva, denzong and sushant. I have a request to you guys. This discussion is going on in another thread CDP v/s SB. Discuss your hearts out there. Denom is doing a good job for guys who are interested in CDPs. Lets not spoil that.

Discuss about the price , availability, payments , if you wanna a piece etc in this thread. A good effort may go waste and people who have made up their mind for CDPs will suffer.

Just an advise.

You can connect USB pen drives and any MP3 player including iPods. The CD6003 supports MP3, WMA, AAC & WAV - so it can play most of the popular digital music formats.

Only concern (if at all) is with the UI for USB input. Can someone please post a review of how practical the UI is for navigating, selecting & playing songs from a 32GB USB drive with over 2000 songs in a nested folder structure?

Thanks.

Oops, sorry :o

No intention of spoiling anything - truth is I am tempted by the deal and trying to talk myself out of it :D
