Toshiba P2305 39" Review

Can somebody post how to check the usage hours for toshiba LED's.
I am going to pick L3300 this week itself and fast replies highly appreciated.

There is no known way to check usage hours for toshiba tvs as of now.
Just make sure that tv is opened infront of yoy and box does not show any signs of repacking.. double tapes etc..

Hello jarivk plz let me know can I access full Internet via Ethernet or only YT in L3300. Plz share your experience...

L3300 supports only Youtube application. There is no internet browser functionality.
Built-in YouTube app can be used in multiple ways.

1. Using TV remote and TV to browse and open Youtube videos
2. Control youtube app in TV from mobile/laptop by using youtube pairing
3. Redirect youtube video from mobile/laptop by clicking on cast icon (which looks like this http://img.talkandroid.com/uploads/2014/03/google_cast_icon_update_02.png) and selecting TOSHIBA-TV.

Note that mobile/laptop has to be on same network as TV.

Did you buy cromecast to do wifi casting from PC/Android?

Guys, bought 39L3300 yesterday. technician came to install it today.
Buying experience, delivery, installation all were good.
But to my disappointment the TV seems to have hell of a backlight bleeding..
Have raised a complaint with toshiba. keeping fingers crossed to know how it turns out :(

Those are not blue colors. Thats the white light bleeding on complete black screen.
I used a camera to capture it and post it here, thats why it appears bluish.
jarivk, Your TV in darkness have this kind of bleeding on the panel?

How did you managed to get this? how did you test it?

p2305 owners , what picture mode/settings you find best ?
I usually use Autoview/Standard for SD channels, Cricket/Dynamic mode for sports & HD channels. i had made some adjustments in the setting though.

Oh that's bad, get the piece changed. I checked for bad pixels and backlight bleeding when tv got delivered. No bad pixels and bleeding was within acceptable range (all tv's have it to some extent irrespective of make), yours is too bad. Get it replaced.

Yes, The guy from Toshiba came yesterday and told that they will replace the piece.
He said the Toshiba guys will inspect the image and may come for verification once again. Dont know how is it going to end..

Tijo, testing is simple. I casted a pitch black youtube video on to the TV with all room lights turned off.
Something like below.

Hi All

Most of the time picture bleeding is not a fault but just the setting we do for backlight. Majority of Toshiba LEDs come with a preset for 'Showroom' display with maximum brightness, contrast and backlight settings. You need to switch the LED to Home setting first and then lower down the backlight to 10 and it will give you perfect picture without any bleeding.
Comfortable picture output would come after some time of burning period for LEDs which is usually 30-40 hours of breaking.

I am using 39" L3300 from last 4 months in bedroom and believe me it's picture quality is better than my drawing room LED Samsung 40F5500. I do watch a lot of Football shows and Toshiba's cricket mode beats down Samsung in fast moving scenes.

Will post my calibration settings if anyone needs it.

Hi, I checked my L3300 with black screen content last night and i didn't see any backlight variation. All i saw was evenly lit display. Could you see the backlight variation easily? I tried different display modes and found that black seems best in Intelligent Autoview mode.

Its very easy to notice in all modes.
I tried reducing backlight to lower levels and still its there. If it was an even distribution of backlight I wouldn't have bothered to raise a complaint.
Since its uneven and they are 2 circular patches towards the center of the display I am worried if the panel has suffered some physical abuse/manufacturing defect.
Anyways the technician told me that they have processed a replacement request. It will take a weeks time when Toshiba ships it to Bangalore.
I hope i will get a good piece then.
