Yamaha AVR owners thread

Look for the make of Airtel DTH box. It is normally on the backside of the box. Now look for remote for the box under "Satellite" category in the remote code list provided with AVR. The same can also be accessed in the disc provided with AVR, else you can download the same.
Activating procedure has been given in the AVR manual.

I had tried that. THe DTH box is made by Huawei. But the remote control codes doesn't have code for this make.

Hello Friends,

I am new member of Yamaha AVR. I need help to tuning my avr.

I have AVR of Yamaha Rx v565 and 5.1 Speaker set of Wharfedale Dx1 HCP. The system is connected with Videocon D2h HD, DVD Player and HP Pavilion dm4 laptop.

[D2h settop box is connected with AVR by HDMI cable and Coxial Cable, DVD is connected with AVR by RCA component and Optical cable, Laptop connected with AVR by HDMI cable[

I generally use d2h Hd. I did all setting and YAPO as mentioned in the manual but the sound is not that great and the bass of the system is very weak. I think there is something missing in setting but unable to figure out.

Dear expert pls help me to get really great sound and bass from my system.

You can manually adjust the bass if this is the problem.

Why are you using both HDMI and coax from D2H to AVR? Also, have you confirmed that the channels you are watching are having the 5.1 soundtrack and that you have enabled the same in your D2H box settings?

If you watch some clip from your laptop having a 5.1 DTS soundtrack do you get adequate bass and surround sound?

As per my info, D2h is not support 5.1 thru HDMI, so connect AVR with coax. I am pretty sure, channel supports 5.1 sound like Star Movies HD, Movies Now HD and setting in d2h box is set to home cinema.

I am sure that all my connection are correct but there may be some issue in setting in AVR or sub's crossover. When I am running YAPO it shows error of out of phase. snap of same is attached here.

The error is because of red wire went into black and black wire went into red.
Check you speaker connection at speaker end also at back side of AVR.
As per your snap, your front left and center speaker are wired incorrectly.

I'm a proud owner of 299 since January 2014. I loved it for watching movies. It's amazing in playing movies. But in playing music, I need more BASS. so I'm damn sure to upgrade it's front with FS. please friends suggest some best FS for my 299. My budget is around 20k.
ThanX

what's the main differences between yamaha rx v 375 and 377.

I'm getting 377 model for 5k more than the 375 price is it worth the extra?

Cant see much difference.Extra Bass and Subwoofer Trim Control looks new features. Also virtual cinema and audio delay upto 500ms.I dont think it can make a lot improvement in sound.Still check if possible.I will prefer "Straight mode" than virtual.
In fact optical input reduce to one in 377,also front composite video removed.
So nothing special but can save money on old model.

Hi,

I am planning on getting FS speakers for my Yamaha 671 (US mode). My budget is around 40-45 K. One of my friends has Boston Acoustics A360. I loved the performance of the speaker which has been paired with Denon. Can I pair the A360 with 671? I will be configuring my HT as 7.1.

Hi freinds,
Encountered a strange problem yesterday with my RX-473 and requesting help. I put a new graphic card (ASUS Ge force-210) in my PC and connected it to one of the inputs in the AVR through HDMI. AVR's HDMI out port is connected to the TV HDMI. I got clear audio & video from the PC. But after about 20-30 minutes, the screen started crashing. On subsequent attempts, first it started showing red color snowy screen and later video signals were lost completely. I then completely disconnected the PC from the chain and switched on the STB(connected through HDMI). Here also, I got the audio but picture was same red-snowy which later was lost. I connected the TV directly to the STB and got the picture perfectly. Played music through a USB and that also worked fine. So I think the problem has occured with the HDMI-out only. What could be the remedy? Need some help badly.

Dear FMs,

I have a combo of Yamaha Rx v565 and Wharfedale dx1 HCP. I am offering of exchange of my v565 with v567 or v467 with addition of Rs. 7k and 5k respectively. Is it worth to xchange, if worth with which one ? I am 90% to movie n 10% to music. I m not having 3D TV now but may get in near future (if fund managed) and 5.1 is suffice for me and may upgrade front speakers to floor-standers.

Thanx in advance.
