Panasonic V20 Owners Thread (Settings, Problems, Impressions, Questions)

Pana P50V20D finally installed up and running. Picture quality us mind blowing. This was a box packed pc also checked the usage hours with help from Haisaikat (Thank you Buddy) usage hours 3 hours all my own usage. Still got to get the scratch card from Panasonic. But did get the scratch card from Reliance. They have their own one running. And guess what won 11K already. Need to add 11K for any additional wins :) Sweet deal. Hooked up the Sony BDP 370 player to it and the up scaling of DVD's is unbelievable. Blu rays discs no questions. Got this hooked up to my HK 5.1 System along with additional Tecnics speakers to make it a hell of a show. Wont be surprised if the neighbors are going to complain soon :)

Congrats !!!!

I see that some one in this thread got 42" V20D for 61K from modern world. But I just asked them over phone and the last price they say is 66K and asking me to drop in for further negotiation. What might be the latest price? How did you mange 61K?

BTW, this is for my friend.

Thanks!

Looks like V (non 3D) series is going to get discontinued. Panasonic global site does not list Normal V series Tv. How does 42G30 compares in terms of picture quality with 42V20?

Any observations?

Thanks Kittu!

My friend is buying it from Modern world as he finds it difficult to go to Rejaji nagar as its far for him. Modern world price is 61K + 700 as processing fee for EMI. No freebies. Not sure about the wall mount unit. He is determined to watch the finals on the new TV so no more running around. Modern world has promised to fix it by tomorrow.

@sameerbo, though they discontinue in global site they will take another month or so to launch the new one internationally and take another couple of months to launch in India. But for those who are ready to wait for few months they probably can get a bargain price for the discontinued V series.

Good pricing anish, make sure he gets the 3 years warranty thing..Hope your friend will enjoy the game in the high speed , pitch black and ubercool plasma. :clapping:

Yeah, I have asked him to double check to get 3 year warranty and the CRICKET scratch card. About the pitch black I suspect he is going to get all the beauty during the finals. Believe me my unit's ability to show black was not that great in the beginning. Kind of dark gray. I thought that's the limit. But now after about 300 hours of watching you can clearly differentiate between true black and deep gray. This is amazing. Even the brightness and colour are better than earlier. I have set brightness and sharpness and contrast to 0 and color to 30 but still it's bright and colourful enough to watch in daylight or with room lights switched on.

Modern world says they don't have anymore scratch card with them. Is that right? They should be giving one right? The offer is for the world cup and the finals are yet to happen.

Also, he just checked the TV used hours from service menu and found 278 hours and count as 184 (number of switch on). I guess this is a demo/used TV. What should be done?

They have agreed to replace the unit by tomorrow. Till then he can watch the old one. They say it's Panasonic's fault. The usual blame game. Good that forums like these help users identify cheating like these. Now the remaining thing is with scratch card, which my friend is going to take up with Panasonic.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
