Yamaha AVR owners thread

Is it normal for the yamaha receiver to make a mild click noise when woken from standby, and when switching hdmi inputs?

Mild clicking sound is due switching of relays. Don't worry its common -though I do not hear any sound while switching inputs.

The clicking during starting is always there, and during input change only rarely! Guess its fine then :-) thanks ppl!

Just an update:

I have now a servo stabilizer installed, and i dont notice any clicks on switching hdmi inputs, only the bootup click...

Hi Gurus,

I am new to this forum and this is my very first post.
I am in Japan and I am getting a RX-V475 for 30K jpy(japanese yen - 18K INR)
Is it good to buy from japan.

I need to buy a transformer when i use it in india. (japan use 100V)

Q 1 - How much is the running price for RX-V475 in india.
Q 2 - What are the options for me for 5.1 speakers and sub.

I can get all make and model in japan and post price so i can compare against indian price.

Welcome to forum,
If its made in Japan, then may be yes.We get Malaysian models which has Universal power supply with switch.Price looks good if made in Japan.
You can get Dali zensor,Q acoustic speaker package.
Also wharfedale goes well.
So decide depending on budget and Demo.

 It's not "Made in Japan"...gone are the days when japan was doing production now even TV, Camera everything is "made in non-japan"

What is the actual market price in india for RX-V475.
Even with transformer the complete package will cost me 21,600 INR.

I will buy speakers from india because it would be difficult to carry them in flight. they will eat my entire luggage limit also.

Amp can be weak for V4.

This is how my setup is connected

BDP - AVR - TV (all connection via HDMI)
Tatasky - TV (HDMI)
Tatasky - Optical - AVR

Yesterday, I was listening to music on the BDP. For selection of songs I had the TV on and everything was hunky dory. After my song selection, I tried to switch the HDMI input on the TV to watch Tatasky (the TV has two HDMI In - AVR and TataSky). Strangely the music stopped as soon as I switched the HDMI. If I switch back to the AVR HDMI In on the TV, it works fine. It even works if I switch the TV off, but it was not working when I was switching the HDMI In on my TV.

The AVR's HDMI input was not changed and I have kept HDMI CEC off on all my devices. I am not sure whether it's supposed to behave this way

Friends I owned htr3066 from 2-2-2014. YestrDay while some music playing, i unknowingly switch the voltage button in sub from 220v to 110v. The sub suddenly switched off. and after tat i didnt switched on. Is that my fault? What can i do for tat? The sub is NSW20. Give me some remidy. Thanks in aDvance.

Chances are that you've blown the power supply circuitry for the sub. Check it from some local speaker repair guy if it can be replaced at a low cost.

The sound can stop for a few seconds when you switch the TV input from AVR to STB hdmi. but subsequently you should be able to view silent TV programmes while listening to music.

If this is not happening then probably your remote is controlling both tv and avr or there might be a Bravia/Viera link which is coming into play.

It's not a sony tv so no Bravia link. Also the avr does display the correct hdmi input selected.

8390 will be easy to drive for your receiver. When it says 6 ohm; it means 6 and higher. In fact Yamaha used to package the speaker with 3065 and sell.
